Rotator Wrecker Service for Complex Heavy Recovery

A heavy-duty rotator tow truck is a recovery unit with a 360-degree rotating crane boom. Unlike a standard wrecker that can only pull from fixed angles, a rotator can position its lift point anywhere around the vehicle, giving the operator control over the angle of the pull regardless of how the truck landed or where the obstacles are.

Rotators are the right tool for overturned vehicles, trucks that went down embankments, semis in tight spaces, and any recovery where the straight-line pull of a standard wrecker would cause further damage or make the job impossible.

Overturned Semi Recovery

An overturned semi on a highway or in a median is one of the most complex recovery jobs in commercial towing. Rotator recovery for overturned vehicles requires a planned approach — securing the load (if loaded), controlling the vehicle's rotation during righting, and placing it safely on its wheels without causing secondary damage to the cab or trailer.

We've righted overturned semis on I-70 and I-135, on county roads, and off the shoulder in tight conditions. The rotator gives us the control to do it correctly.

Heavy Duty Rotator Service for Difficult Angles

Standard wreckers are limited by their fixed boom angle. Heavy-duty rotator service eliminates that limitation. If the vehicle is in a position where a direct pull would damage the frame or a standard wrecker can't get a proper footing, the rotator repositions to find the right approach.

This is especially common in situations where trucks have left the roadway at speed, ended up in drainage ditches, or are partially hanging off a structure. The rotator is the heaviest unit we run for heavy-duty towing, and it handles what others can't.

24/7 Rotator Dispatch for Emergency Recovery

Our rotator units are available around the clock. When a loaded semi overturns on an interstate at 3 a.m., waiting until morning isn't an option. We dispatch heavy equipment at all hours — same availability as our standard towing operation, same dispatch line.

If you're a fleet coordinator with a truck down in Central Kansas, (620) 654-3210 gets you to our heavy-duty dispatch any time.

How a Rotator Recovery Works

Call with the Situation

Describe the vehicle type, load status, and what happened. Include the location and road/site conditions. The more detail on the call, the better prepared we are when the rotator arrives.

Rotator Dispatched

Our heavy-duty dispatcher routes the appropriate unit to the scene. For major incidents — overturned loaded semis or multi-vehicle situations — we may dispatch additional support equipment.

Scene Assessment and Recovery Plan

Our operator walks the scene before touching anything. This takes a few minutes. Rushing it can cause secondary damage.

Recovery Executed

The rotator rights or extracts the vehicle in a controlled manner. Once the vehicle is on stable ground, we assess for towing needs and either tow it or transfer it to the appropriate destination.

"I had an excellent experience with Auto House Inc Towing & Recovery. While I was traveling with a load through McPherson, Kansas, my truck broke down unexpectedly. I called them after finding their company on Google, and from the very beginning, their service was outstanding. They arrived even faster than the estimated time, handled my truck professionally, and safely transported it to a repair shop. What really stood out was the level of care they provided beyond just towing — they took the time to drive me to a hotel and made sure I could choose where I wanted to stay."
